The idea here is a fest for the deadline-motivated late treaters of us to chuck new works toward old requests with the additional benefit of not limiting ourselves to recent exchanges if the recipient opts in.
In short, late treats are usually welcome, but sometimes canon changes or it's been a very, very long time since someone asked for a particular request, and some of us just don't finish late treats as easily without a deadline. This was a straightforward idea to provide an anon period and reveals structure for interested creators and an open venue for those of us with old requests we still want and never received.
Important Warning
Prompt collections do not allow the mod to contact you directly. Please either include a preferred contact method for mods and participants in your signup or realize that you will not be contacted, even if something is wrong with your signup, e.g. a broken link. For this reason, please double check your signup that everything works for someone who is not signed in as you. A good test is to open all links in an incognito window to make sure they can be viewed correctly.
Rules
- Prompting and filling will both open at the same time.
- Add your fandoms at the current tagset, linked on the round's post. If you need more, email info@lianamir.com, and I'll edit them in. This will allow you to select them on your signup.
- Prompts must include a link to an old exchange or fest letter, a prompt comment, or an exchange request summary sorted by prompters with an indication of where your requests are on the page. The exchange or fest should not still be open, i.e. the event is considered over.
- You can't link to your old signup. You and the mod of that collection are the only people able to see it. Instead, link to an exchange request summary sorted by prompters with an indication of where your requests are on the page.
- Each prompt should only include a link to one previous exchange or fest's prompts. Include the fandoms that appear on that set of prompts. If you have any exclusions, please note them in the optional details.
- You may prompt 1-10 requests.
- You are not guaranteed a late treat.
- The collection will be unmoderated.
- Anyone can fill any of the prompts and write a late treat. You don't have to sign up.
- If the old exchange or fest allows late treats posted to the collection, you should post your fill to both that collection and this one.
- Work reveals will be on Christmas morning at or a little after 7 a.m. MST
FAQs
- When can I sign up? Sign ups remain open until December 25, when they're closed and works are revealed. Posting remains open until author reveals.
- How do I search for requests? Prompt collections on AO3 are not very searchable. We will have a separate spreadsheet and probably app linked on the post for each round.
- Do treats have to match the length/size requirements of the original event? Yes, unless your recipient specifies otherwise in their optional details. Basically, this is an opt-in fest. So only give what the recipient has opted in to receive.
- What kinds of old events or prompts can I put in? Your requests for a gift exchange, your prompts for a fest like Fandom Giftbox or Fandom Stocking, any kind of gift prompt post or comment that solicited works to be gifted to you and is now considered over, a comment on a pinch hitters treat post, a comment on a Yuletide challenge post such as Crueltide, etc.
- Where's the post to collection button? I don't know. When the collection is open however, you claim a prompt, then click fulfill, you should be able to post to collection. Alternatively, add the collection name manually to the collection field as you do recipient name to the recipient field.
- Can I include multiple letters in one request? Ideally no. One event per request. Also multiple URLs in the link field break.
